custom website benefits

It seems that “custom” is a new buzzword among web design and development companies. “Custom” implies that a website has been created exclusively for a particular client, based on his or her needs. However, often times the meaning of “custom” has been stretched to include every little change made by a web designer, regardless of whether he or she has created the original design and/or application.

For instance, does merely changing a font means that the website is now custom? Would you consider it “custom design” if we took the exact same layout that we have used for another client in the past, changed the font, uploaded your logo, and threw a few stock photos in the mix? Probably not.

So if you’re looking for someone to create or re-design your website, it’s important to ask just how “custom” your custom design is going to be.

litvaksig jewish genealogyLitvakSIG.org has been online since 1998 and has registered over 1.3 million site visits. Considering that the world’s first website was published only in 1991, LitvakSIG.org has been around for light-years. It was an honor for us to be selected as a company who got to re-design and re-build the website from the ground up.

LitvakSIG was (and, of course, is) a terrific source for anyone interested in their Litvak heritage and genealogy. Yet as a website, it was not in great shape at the time when we received logins and the Board’s blessing to perform a thorough inventory.

Due to multiple additions and patches, Joomla framework was crumbling. Website administrators had trouble accessing many of the pages. The content management system (CMS) wasn’t functioning as intended. Contributors had hard time finding entire sections of the website in the backend and the search function was either inaccurate or non-operational. Finally, the donations processing system, although set up through a reputable vendor, was not working.

successCollaborating with others is always fun and working with the marketer and former banker Lee Honish is always an adventure. Plus, working with Lee means creating services and products for real estate professionals, which is fun and challenging at the same time.

So this post is for all the real estate professionals within a reasonable driving distance from Las Vegas and those adventurous enough to get a last minute ticket to the Sin City.

If you are an active real estate agent/broker, you most likely work with Buyers, Expireds, Equity, FSBOs, Investors, Probate, Short Sales NODs, and you need listings. Well, how do you go about getting one? If I posed this question to a random real estate agent, I am most likely to get one of the two answers (or both):

  • I get my listings based on referrals;
  • I do some type of marketing.

The thing about referrals… they are not guaranteed. You can’t get a listing on demand, because you don’t know when the next referral is coming or where is it coming from.

wordpress malicious code injectBeing hacked is no fun. However, if you have a Wordpress website or blog, you should be prepared for it. As a very popular open-source content management system, Wordpress very often becomes a target of hackers, especially the ones who enjoy injecting malicious code in Wordpress core files.

One of our client’s accounts with multiple Wordpress blogs and website was recently hacked (full disclosure: we were not managing the account at the moment nor did we do any work for them lately). Their cheap shared hosting company pretty much told them to take a hike when they asked to for a full database restore. Instead of their usual website content, visitors were presented with the following error message on the otherwise blank page: Syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE.  A few sites displayed the following error message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ’,’ in /home/

CSG Property Solutions home pageWe’re pleased to announce a completion of yet another project that involves creating a new brand identity and a brand new website.

We’re grateful to CSG Property Solutions and especially their president, Comella Sledge, for allowing us to experiment and unleash our creativity.

For reasons beyond our comprehension, most property preservation companies seem to spend little time on branding. Furthermore, a typical website of a property preservation company is usually built on a template and “stylish” is not exactly a word that comes to one’s mind when browsing this type of website.

Since CSG Property Solutions had no website at the moment, they were uniquely positioned to create their brand from scratch.
